Sarah Ketay is a social psychologist who joined the University of Hartford after completing postdoctoral research at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Her research focuses on the psychological and physiological underpinnings of social interaction and the factors that shape responses to stress. Recent work investigates how our experiences are affected by intergroup interaction, how self-compassion shapes the stress response, the role of mindfulness in dyadic social interaction, and the ways that conversations with others can increase open-mindedness.

She has a BA in Neuroscience from Mount Holyoke College and an MA and a PhD in Social & Health Psychology from Stony Brook University. Prior to joining the University of Hartford, she taught at Bard College, Barnard College, and New York University.
